How to Select Multiple Videos on TikTok

Trying to organize, clean up, or repurpose your TikTok videos by selecting multiple at once can feel surprisingly difficult for such a simple task. While you can't just check a box next to dozens of videos for batch actions like you would with emails, a few powerful features and workarounds can get the job done. This guide will walk you through exactly how to group, organize, and manage your existing TikTok library effectively, saving you a ton of scrolling and tapping.

Why Would You Need to Select Multiple Videos in the First Place?

Before jumping into the "how," let's quickly cover the "why." Usually, when someone wants to select multiple videos on TikTok, they're trying to accomplish one of these core tasks:

  • Profile Organization: You're doing a bit of brand spring cleaning. Maybe you want to group all your "behind-the-scenes" videos together or make a collection of your top tutorials.
  • Creating a Series: If you've created a multi-part story or a thematic series of clips, you want to group them so viewers can easily watch them in order.
  • Making Content Private: Sometimes, older content no longer reflects your brand or messaging. Instead of deleting it forever, you might want to make a batch of videos private, keeping the data but hiding it from public view.
  • General Content Management: As your profile grows from dozens to hundreds or even thousands of videos, just navigating your own content library becomes a hassle. Grouping them helps you find what you need faster.

Understanding your end goal is helpful because TikTok offers different tools suited for different organizational tasks. While there isn't a universal "select all" button, there are specific solutions for each of these use cases.

The Straight Answer: Can You Mass-Select and Delete Multiple TikToks?

Let's get this out of the way first. As of now, TikTok does not have a feature that allows you to select multiple videos at once to perform a mass action like deleting them. This seems to be by design. Social platforms generally want content to remain on their services, so they often make bulk deletion inconvenient.

Each video must be deleted individually. The process is simple, but slow if you have many videos to remove:

  1. Navigate to the video you want to delete.
  2. Tap the three dots (...) on the right-side menu.
  3. Swipe left along the bottom row of icons until you see the trash can icon labeled "Delete."
  4. Tap "Delete" and confirm your choice.

So, if your goal is outright deletion, you'll have to take the one-by-one approach. However, if your goal is organization and management, you're in luck. There are some excellent built-in features for that.

Manage Your TikToks: Powerful Workarounds for Grouping Videos

Instead of thinking about "selecting multiple videos," reframe it as "grouping multiple videos." This is where TikTok gives you some real control. Here are the best methods to organize your content library.

Method 1: Use Playlists to Curate and Organize Content

TikTok Playlists are easily the best feature for grouping similar videos together directly on your profile. When you put videos into a playlist, a new module appears on your profile page that keeps those videos bundled under a single title. It's perfect for creating a "Course Introduction," a "Product Unboxing" series, or a showcase of "Customer Testimonials."

Who can use Playlists?

This feature is generally available for creators with a Creator Account or Business Account. If you are on a personal account, you’ll first need to make the switch in your settings (under "Manage Account").

How to Create a TikTok Playlist:

  1. Go to your profile page. Right above where your videos are displayed, you might see "Sort videos into playlists" if you haven't created one yet. Tap on that. If you've already created playlists, you'll see them listed there instead.
  2. Start the creation process. Tap on the prompt to "Create a playlist."
  3. Name your playlist. Give it a clear, descriptive title that tells viewers exactly what kind of content they'll find. For example, "Quick Social Media Tips" or "My Fitness Journey Day 1-10."
  4. Select your videos! This is the part you've been waiting for. TikTok will show you a grid of all your public videos. You can now tap to select multiple videos to include in this playlist. Just scroll and tap on every video you want to add.
  5. Reorder and finish. Once you’ve selected your videos, you can drag and drop them into the exact order you want them to appear. Tap "Done," and your playlist will appear on your profile.

Playlists are public and an excellent way to guide your audience to your best, most relevant content, increasing watch time and encouraging them to stick around longer.

Method 2: Leverage "Favorites" and "Collections" for Private Sorting

What if you want to group videos but keep the collection private? Maybe you're organizing a content library for your own reference, creating a mood board of inspirational videos from other creators, or collecting your own videos for repurposing later. This is where Favorites and Collections come in handy.

Here’s how to use Collections to "select" and "group" videos privately:

  1. Favorite the videos you want to group. On any video (your own or someone else's), tap the bookmark icon on the right to add it to your Favorites. Do this for all the videos you want to organize.
  2. Navigate to your Favorites tab. Go to your profile page and tap the same bookmark icon located next to "Edit Profile." This takes you to all your favorited content.
  3. Create a new Collection. At the top of your Favorites page, you'll see tabs for "Posts," "Sounds," "Effects," etc. Navigate to the "Collections" tab and tap "Create new collection."
  4. Name your Collection. Much like a playlist, give your collection a name that makes sense to you (e.g., "UGC Ideas," "Future Post Inspiration," "Best Hooks examples").
  5. Add videos to your new Collection. After naming it, you'll get an option to "Add videos." Tapping this will open up your entire list of favorited videos. You can now quickly tap and select multiple videos to sort them into this private folder.

The beauty of Collections is that they are for your eyes only. It's the perfect backend organization system for any creator or social media manager looking to keep their content strategy tidy without cluttering their public profile.

What about TikTok on Desktop? Does it offer better tools?

Many users assume the desktop version of TikTok comes with more advanced, "power-user" features for managing content. It's a fair assumption, as this is true for platforms like YouTube. Unfortunately, when it comes to managing existing content, TikTok's desktop experience is very similar to the mobile app.

You cannot use the desktop browser to multi-select or batch-manage videos on your profile. You still need to go into each video one by one to delete it or change its privacy settings.

The main strength of using TikTok on a desktop is the upload process. It's often easier to upload a high-quality video file from your computer that was edited with professional software. The desktop browser also gives you access to a great analytics dashboard to check your overall account performance. It’s a fantastic tool for uploading and analyzing, but not for batch-organizing existing posts.

Final Thoughts

Even though TikTok doesn't offer a traditional "check all" button for videos, using features like Playlists for public-facing collections and organizing Favorites into private Collections gives you a powerful way to group and manage your content library. These tools are far more effective for building a coherent brand and user experience than simply mass-deleting old posts.
