How to Find My Facebook Link to Share

Trying to share your Facebook profile but coming up empty-handed when you look for the link? You're not alone. Finding that specific URL for your profile, page, or group can feel surprisingly hidden. This guide will show you exactly where to find your Facebook link on any device, so you can share it with confidence.

Why Your Facebook Link Matters

Before we get into the step-by-step instructions, it helps to understand why having this link ready is so useful. Your Facebook URL is a direct line to your online home base. Sharing it effectively helps you connect with people off the platform and build a more integrated online presence. Here are a few common places where your Facebook link comes in handy:

  • Email Signatures: Adding a link to your Facebook profile or business page in your email signature is a subtle way to connect with professional contacts and clients.
  • Other Social Media Profiles: Your "link in bio" on Instagram, X, or TikTok is valuable real estate. Using it for your Facebook Page can drive your audience from one platform to another.
  • Business Cards and Resumes: For business owners, creators, and professionals, a custom Facebook link on a business card or resume provides a direct path for potential contacts to see your work and learn more about you.
  • Your Website or Blog: Including a link on your "Contact Us" or "About Me" page makes it easy for website visitors to find and follow your social channels.

Each use case is about making connections simpler. The goal is to remove friction and let people find you with a single click.

Finding Your Personal Facebook Profile Link

Let's start with the most common one: your personal profile. The steps are slightly different depending on whether you're using a computer or a mobile device.

On a Desktop Computer (Web Browser)

Finding your link on a desktop computer is the most straightforward method. It's right there in your browser's address bar.

  1. Log into Facebook: Open your web browser (like Chrome, Firefox, or Safari) and go to facebook.com. Log in if you're not already.
  2. Navigate to Your Profile: Click on your name or profile picture in the top-left corner of the homepage or in the top-right menu. This will take you to your personal profile page.
  3. Copy the URL: Look at the address bar at the very top of your browser window. The URL displayed is the direct link to your profile. It will look something like https://www.facebook.com/your.na.me if you've set a custom URL, or something with a string of numbers if you haven't (we'll cover how to change this later!).
  4. Highlight and Copy: Click inside the address bar, highlight the entire URL, right-click, and select "Copy" (or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+C on Windows or Cmd+C on Mac). Now you can paste it anywhere you like.

On the Facebook Mobile App (iOS and Android)

When you're using the mobile app, you won't have a visible URL bar. Instead, you need to use the app's built-in sharing options.

  1. Open the Facebook App: Tap the app icon to open it.
  2. Go to Your Profile: Tap on your profile picture in the menu (usually in the bottom-right on iOS or top-right on Android) and then tap on your name to go to your personal profile.
  3. Find the Menu Button: Directly below your name and profile picture, you'll see a few buttons like "Add to Story" and "Edit Profile." To the right of these, tap the button with three horizontal dots (...).
  4. Copy Your Link: Tapping the three-dot menu will open your "Profile Settings." At the very bottom of this screen, you'll see a section titled "Your Profile Link." Simply tap the "Copy Link" button, and the URL will be copied to your phone's clipboard, ready to be pasted.

Finding Your Facebook Business Page Link

If you manage a business page, you'll want to share that URL to attract followers and customers. The process is similar to finding a personal profile link.

On a Desktop Computer

  1. Go to Your Page: Log into Facebook and navigate to the page you manage from the left-hand menu or by searching for it.
  2. Copy the URL from the Address Bar: Just like with a personal profile, the easiest way is to simply copy the URL directly from your browser's address bar. It will be a clean link, like https://www.facebook.com/yourbusinessname.

On the Facebook Mobile App

  1. Switch to Your Page Profile: Open the app and tap the menu icon. Switch from your personal profile to your Business Page profile by tapping on its name.
  2. Navigate to the Page View: Once you're managing as the page, tap on the profile picture to view the page as a visitor would.
  3. Tap the Three-Dot Menu: Similar to a personal profile, find and tap the three-dot menu (...) located next to the "Like" and "Message" buttons.
  4. Copy the Link: At the bottom of the menu that appears, you’ll find the page's URL. Tap "Copy Link" to save it to your clipboard.

How to Find and Share a Facebook Group Link

Sharing a community you've built or are a part of is a great way to invite new members. Here's how to grab the link for a Facebook Group.

On a Desktop Computer

  1. Find the Group: Navigate to the group page you want to share.
  2. Use the "Share" Button: Just below the group's cover photo, you'll see a "Share" button, usually represented by an arrow icon. Click it.
3. Choose "Copy Link": A dropdown menu will appear with several sharing options. The simplest is to click "Copy Link." This will copy the direct URL for the group page to your clipboard.
  4. Alternatively, you can just copy the URL from the address bar at the top of your browser.

On the Facebook Mobile App

  1. Navigate to the Group: Open the Facebook app and open the group you'd like to share.
  2. Find the Share Option: In the top-right corner, you’ll see a share icon (an arrow) or a shield icon if you're an admin. Tap on it.
3. Tap "Copy Link": A menu with sharing options will pop up from the bottom. Find and tap "Copy Link" among the options. The link is now ready to be pasted.

Sharing a Link to a Specific Facebook Post

Sometimes you don't want to share your entire profile, just one specific post, photo, or video. Every post on Facebook has its own unique URL.

On a Desktop Computer

There are two quick ways to do this on a desktop:

  • The Timestamp Method: The most reliable way is to find the post you want to share and click on its timestamp. This is the gray text that says something like "3h," "August 21 at 5:10 PM," or "Just now." Clicking it will open the post on its own dedicated page. The URL in your address bar is the direct link to that post. Copy it.
  • The Menu Method: Click the three dots (...) in the top-right corner of the post itself. From the dropdown menu that appears, select "Copy Link."

On the Facebook Mobile App

Grabbing a post link from your phone is even simpler.

  1. Find the Post: Scroll to the post you want to share.
  2. Tap the "Share" Button: Below the post's content and likes/reactions, there is a "Share" button. Tap it.
  3. Find "Copy Link": A menu will appear with different ways to share. Instead of sharing directly to another app, look for an option that says "Copy Link." Sometimes you may need to tap "More Options..." to find it. Once you tap it, the direct post URL is on your clipboard.

Customizing Your Facebook URL (Your Vanity URL)

Notice how some Facebook URLs are clean and easy to remember (like facebook.com/YourName), while others are a jumble of letters and numbers (facebook.com/profile.php?id=123...)?

The clean version is known as a "vanity URL," and it's highly recommended you set one up for both your personal profile and business page. It looks much more professional and is far easier to share verbally or type from memory.

How to Set Up Your Vanity URL:

  1. Go to the Right Settings Page: On a desktop, the easiest way is to navigate directly to facebook.com/username.
  2. Choose Your Profile or Page: The page will let you choose whether you want to set the username for your personal profile or for one of the Business Pages you manage.
  3. Enter Your Desired Username: In the "Username" box, type what you'd like the end of your URL to be. Facebook will check if it's available. Good usernames are often your name, your business name, or a version of it.
  4. Save Changes: If the name is available, just click "Save Changes." Your new, easy-to-share URL is now active!

A quick tip: Choose your username carefully. While Facebook may let you change it later, there are often restrictions on how frequently you can do so. Pick something timeless and professional that you'll be happy with for a long time.
