The chart first defaults to a “Days” view. This shows you a simple bar graph illustrating which days of the week your followers are generally most active. The taller the blue bar, the higher the activity for that day.
For example, you might see that your activity is consistently a little higher on Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday. This doesn't mean you should only post on those days, but it does suggest these are high-potential days to prioritize your best content. Note these days down as your primary targets.
Now, tap on the chart. It will switch to the “Hours” view. This is where the magic happens. You’ll see a detailed graph that breaks down follower activity hour-by-hour for each day of the week. You can tap on a specific day (like Tuesday) to isolate the data for just that day.
The blue bars show the average number of your followers who are active during each specific hour. The peaks - the tallest bars - represent your golden windows. This is exactly when the largest concentration of your audience is on the app.
For instance, if you look at your Wednesday data and see distinct peaks at 9 AM, 12 PM, and 7 PM, those are your three prime posting slots for Wednesdays. The 7 PM slot, if it has the tallest bar, is likely your absolute best time to post that day.
Go through each day of the week and make a note of the 1-3 hour blocks where activity consistently peaks. This gives you a data-backed posting schedule to start testing.
Your "Most Active Times" chart gives you a powerful hypothesis, but it's not a set-it-and-forget-it solution. The next step is to test your data and see how it performs in the real world. Here’s a simple framework for testing and refining your schedule.
Based on your research in Insights, write down a clear starting hypothesis. For a new creator, it might sound like this:
