1. Download a Copy of Your Page’s Information

Once a Page is gone, it's gone. All the photos, videos, posts, and information you’ve shared over the years disappear forever. If there's anything on the Page you might want to keep for your records - even if you don't need it right now - download a complete archive of your Page's content.

Facebook allows you to download a complete archive of your Page's content. This includes:

  • All posts, photos, and videos you've uploaded.
  • Your Page information from the "About" section.
  • A list of your followers (username only, not personal data).

To do this, go to your Page's Settings &, Privacy >, Settings >, Privacy >, Facebook Page Information >, Download Page Information. From there, you can select the date range and format for your backup file. It might take a little while for Facebook to prepare your file, but they’ll notify you when it’s ready to download.

2. Announce the Change to Your Followers

If the Page you're deleting has an active (or even a small) following, give them a heads-up. Create a final post letting them know the Page will be taken down and direct them to your primary Page. Something simple works best:

"Hi, everyone! To simplify our Facebook presence, we will be deleting this Page in one week. Please follow us on our official page for all future updates: [Link to Your Main Page]. Thanks for your support!"

How to Delete a Second Facebook Page (Desktop Guide)

Once you’ve backed everything up and you're sure you want to proceed, deleting a Page from a desktop computer is a straightforward process. Facebook has changed its layout a few times, but these steps reflect the most recent "New Pages Experience."

Step 1: Switch to the Page Profile
Log in to your personal Facebook account. In the top-right corner, click on your profile picture. A menu will appear with "See all profiles." Select the Page you want to delete to switch over to managing it directly.

Step 2: Access Your Page Settings
Once you are acting as your Page, click on the profile picture for your Page in the top-right corner again. This time, in the drop-down menu, click on Settings &, Privacy, and then select Settings.

On the left-hand navigation menu, click on Privacy. Then, in the new list that appears, select Facebook Page Information.

Step 4: Find the Deactivation and Deletion Option
In this section, you'll see a row at the bottom labeled Deactivation and Deletion. It will have a description like "Temporarily deactivate or permanently delete your Page." Click on View to the right of this option.

Step 5: Choose "Delete Page" and Confirm
You will now be presented with two choices: "Deactivate Page" or "Delete Page." Select Delete Page. A confirmation box will explain what this means. Read it, and if you’re sure, click Continue.

Tap on Deactivation and Deletion. Just like on the desktop, you will see two options. Select Delete Page and tap Continue.

The app will guide you through the final confirmation steps. You may be asked why you're deleting the Page and will need to enter your password to officially submit your Page for deletion.

What Happens After You Schedule a Page for Deletion?

You’ve clicked the final button. Now what? Your Page doesn't disappear immediately. Facebook holds onto it for a bit to give you a chance to reverse course.

  • The 30-Day Reversal Period: Once you request deletion, your Page is immediately unpublished and scheduled for permanent deletion 30 days later. During this month, no one can see or find your Page.
  • How to Cancel the Deletion: If you change your mind within that 30-day window, you can stop the process. Simply log into Facebook, switch back to the Page profile, and you should see a notification about the pending deletion. Follow the prompts to reactivate the Page.
  • After 30 Days, It's Permanent: Once the 30 days are up, the Page and all its content are permanently erased. There is no way to recover it after this point. The page name might also become available for other people to use.
