How to See Tagged Posts on LinkedIn

Being tagged in a LinkedIn post is a great signal that your network is engaged, but finding where you've been mentioned isn't always as simple as a single notification. Whether you're a professional managing your personal brand or a social media manager tracking company mentions, knowing where to look is essential. This guide will walk you through exactly how to find tagged posts for both your personal profile and your company page, plus what to do with them once you find them.

Why Monitoring Your LinkedIn Mentions Matters

Before we get into the "how," it's worth understanding the "why." Actively seeking out and engaging with posts where you or your company are tagged is more than just social media housekeeping, it's a core part of building an organic brand presence. Here’s why it's a good use of your time:

  • Build Community and Relationships: When someone takes the time to mention you, they’re starting a conversation. Responding shows that you're listening and appreciate their input. A simple "Thanks for the mention!" or a thoughtful reply can strengthen professional relationships and encourage future engagement.
  • Amplify Your Reach: A post where you're tagged is an opportunity to reach a new audience - the network of the original poster. By commenting on or resharing the post, you make it visible to your network, effectively cross-pollinating audiences and expanding your content's reach.
  • Reputation Management: Not all mentions are positive. Keeping an eye on your tags allows you to spot customer feedback, address misconceptions, or handle negative sentiment quickly and professionally. Ignoring these mentions can let a small complaint grow into a larger brand issue.
  • Source User-Generated Content (UGC): When customers or partners post positive experiences and tag your company, that's powerful social proof. You can reshare these posts as testimonials or collect them as valuable marketing assets that show genuine satisfaction with your brand.

How to See Tagged Posts on Your Personal LinkedIn Profile

For your personal account, LinkedIn gives you a couple of straightforward ways to find posts where you’ve been tagged. The best method depends on how recently the tag occurred.

Method 1: The Notifications Tab (The Quickest Way)

Your notifications are the frontline for seeing recent activity, including mentions. This is the simplest and most immediate way to find a tag.

  1. Log in to your LinkedIn account.
  2. Click the "Notifications" icon in the top navigation bar (it looks like a bell).
  3. Scan through your recent notifications. Look for updates that say something like, "[Person's Name] mentioned you in a post" or "[Person's Name] mentioned you in a comment."
  4. Click on the notification, and it will take you directly to the post or comment where you were tagged.

This method is fantastic for real-time engagement. When you get a notification, it’s a direct prompt to jump in, thank the person, and add to the discussion while the post is still fresh and gaining traction in the algorithm.

Method 2: Searching for Mentions (For Older Tags)

What if you missed a notification or want to find a mention from a few weeks or months ago? The notifications feed isn't infinite, so you’ll need a different strategy. While LinkedIn doesn't have a dedicated "Posts I'm tagged in" filter, you can use the main search bar as a workaround.

  1. Go to the LinkedIn homepage and find the search bar at the top left of the page.
  2. Type your name in quotes to search for an exact match. For example: "Your Name" or "Your Full Name".
  3. Press Enter. This will take you to a search results page.
  4. Below the search bar, you'll see a series of filters like "People," "Companies," and "Jobs." Click on "Posts."
  5. This will show you a feed of all public posts that contain your name. You can use the "Sort by" filter on the top right to switch between "Top match" and "Latest" to see the most recent mentions.

A Quick Note on This Method: This search isn't perfect. It will pull up *any* post that includes your name, not just posts where you are officially @-tagged. Still, it’s an effective way to uncover conversations you might have otherwise missed.

How to See Posts Your Company Page is Tagged In

For social media managers and business owners, finding tagged posts for a Company Page is a bit different but just as important. These mentions are a goldmine for customer feedback, partnerships, and UGC.

Just like with personal profiles, you’ll be alerted to company tags via notifications. But if you manage multiple pages or have a high volume of activity, a more dedicated view is better.

  1. Navigate to your LinkedIn Company Page. You can find this by clicking your "Me" icon in the top right and selecting your page under the "Manage" section.
  2. Once you're viewing your page as an admin, look for the navigation menu on the left-hand side of your page and click on "Activity."
  3. This will open up your Page Activity dashboard. At the top of this feed, you'll see three tabs: All activity, Comments, and Mentions.
  4. Click on the "Mentions" tab.

Voila! This feed shows you a chronological list of all public posts and comments where your Company Page has been tagged. It’s a dedicated inbox for your company's mentions, making it easy to review and engage with every tag without having to hunt through a cluttered notification list.

You've Found a Tagged Post. Now What?

Finding the tagged post is just the first step. What you do next can amplify your network, build goodwill, and strengthen your brand. Here’s a simple engagement strategy:

1. Engage Meaningfully

Don't just be a passive observer. At a minimum, "Like" the post. Better yet, leave a thoughtful comment.

  • For a personal mention: Thank the person by name for including you. If appropriate, add another perspective or resource to continue the conversation. For example: "Thanks for including me, Sarah! This is a great point, and I'd add that..."
  • For a company mention: Acknowledge the mention personally. If it's a positive review, thank them for their support. If it's a question, answer it directly. This shows there are real people behind the brand account.

2. Share Strategically

If the post is highly relevant, insightful, or complimentary, share it with your own network using the "Repost" button. When you repost, don't just hit send. Add your own thoughts or context to the top of the post.

  • Frame the share: "Great discussion started by [Original Poster's Name] on the importance of..."
  • Give credit: Always make sure the original creator is recognized.

3. Managing Unwanted Tags

Sometimes you might be tagged in irrelevant, spammy, or inappropriate content. Unlike other platforms, LinkedIn doesn't currently offer a direct one-click "remove tag" feature for personal profiles. You have a few options:

  • Ask the Poster to Remove It: The most direct method is to message the original poster and politely ask them to edit the post and remove the tag. This is usually the best approach for well-intentioned but irrelevant tags.
  • Hide the Post: Click the three dots (...) in the top right corner of the post and select "I don't want to see this." This will hide the post from your feed, but the tag will still exist and remain visible to others.
  • Report the Post: If the content is spam, abusive, or violates LinkedIn's policies, use the same three-dot menu to report it. LinkedIn will review the post and may remove it.

For Company Pages, you have a bit more control. From your "Mentions" feed, you can hide a post you're tagged in. Simply click the three dots on the post and choose "Hide from Page." This doesn’t remove the tag but prevents the post from being easily associated with your page's visible activity.

Final Thoughts

In short, finding where you’re tagged on LinkedIn comes down to checking your personal notifications or diving into the Activity tab's "Mentions" section on your Company Page. Making a habit of checking these places and engaging with what you find transforms mentions from a passive notification into an active opportunity to grow your network and build your brand.
