How to Find My Social Media Link

Finding your social media link should be simple, but every platform hides it in a slightly different place. Whether you're adding it to your email signature, business card, or another social profile, this guide will show you exactly where to find your unique URL on every major platform, on both desktop and mobile. We'll cover everything step-by-step so you can grab your link and get back to what you're building.

Why Your Social Media Link Matters

Think of your social media link, or URL (Uniform Resource Locator), as the direct address to your online home. It's more than just a string of characters, it's a digital handshake, a billboard, and an invitation all in one. When you share your link, you're giving people a one-click way to connect with your brand, your content, and your community. Having it ready makes it effortless for new followers, customers, or collaborators to find you without having to guess your username or sift through search results. It’s a small detail that makes a professional impact, simplifying your marketing and networking efforts instantly.

The Easiest Method: Finding Your Link on a Desktop Browser

The fastest and most reliable way to find your social media URL is by using a desktop web browser like Chrome, Firefox, or Safari. The method is nearly identical across most platforms and only takes a few seconds.

The basic process is this:

  1. Open your web browser and navigate to the social media website.
  2. Log in to your account.
  3. Click on your profile picture or name to navigate to your profile page.
  4. Look at the address bar at the very top of your browser window. The URL displayed there is your direct profile link.
  5. Click on the address bar to highlight the full URL, right-click, and select "Copy" (or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+C on Windows or Cmd+C on Mac).

That’s it! The URL you just copied is your shareable link. Below are the specific steps for each major platform, just in case.

Facebook (Personal Profile vs. Business Page)

Facebook makes a distinction between personal profiles and business Pages, and their URLs can look different.

  • For a Personal Profile: Log in to Facebook, and click your name in the top-left or top-right corner. The URL in the address bar is your link. It might look like facebook.com/your.custom.name if you've set a custom username, or something like facebook.com/profile.php?id=1234567890 if you haven't. Both work!
  • For a Business Page: From your personal profile, click your profile picture in the top-right and select "See all profiles," then choose your business Page. Once the Page loads, the URL in the address bar is your Page's direct link. It will typically be facebook.com/YourBusinessName.

Instagram

Navigate to instagram.com and log in. Click your profile picture in the top-right corner and select "Profile" from the dropdown menu. The URL that appears in your browser's address bar is your Instagram link. It's always in the format instagram.com/yourusername.

X (Formerly Twitter)

Go to x.com (or twitter.com) and sign in. Click on the "Profile" link in the left-hand navigation menu. The URL in the address bar is your correct profile link, which will look like x.com/yourusername.

LinkedIn

Sign in to linkedin.com. Click the "Me" icon in the top navigation bar, then click "View Profile." Once your profile page loads, copy the URL from the address bar. A clean, customized public profile URL will look like linkedin.com/in/your-custom-name.

Pro Tip: If your LinkedIn URL has a random string of numbers at the end, you can customize it! On your profile page, click "Edit public profile & URL" in the top-right corner to set a more professional link.

TikTok

While TikTok is a mobile-first platform, finding your link on desktop is easy. Go to tiktok.com and log in. Hover over your profile icon in the top-right and click "View profile." The URL in the address bar is your link: tiktok.com/@yourusername.

YouTube

Go to youtube.com and log in. Click on your profile picture in the top-right corner, then select "Your channel." The browser's address bar will now show your channel's URL. For newer channels, it might be a long string of random characters. If you have an established channel, you may have a custom handle, making your URL look like youtube.com/@yourchannelhandle.

Pinterest

Log in to pinterest.com. Simply click on your profile picture at the top-right of the screen. This will take you to your main profile board, and the link in your address bar is the one you can share. It follows the format pinterest.com/yourusername.

How to Find Your Link on a Mobile App

Finding your link on a mobile app often involves a "share" function rather than copying from an address bar. The steps are still quick, but they vary slightly more between apps.

Facebook App

  • For a Personal Profile: Open the app, tap your menu icon (three lines) or profile picture, and then tap your name to go to your profile. Below your name, tap the three-dot menu icon (...). At the bottom of this screen, you'll see "Your profile link" with a "Copy Link" button.
  • For a Business Page: Navigate to your Page within the app. Tap the three-dot menu icon (...) near the top. You'll see your Page URL at the bottom with a button to "Copy Link."

Instagram App

This is one of the easiest. Open the Instagram app and tap your profile icon in the bottom-right corner to go to your profile. Tap the "Share profile" button located underneath your bio. A pop-up will appear with a prominent "Copy link" button. Tap it, and your profile URL is ready to be pasted.

X App

Open the X app and tap your profile picture in the top-left corner. Then, tap "Profile" from the menu. Once on your profile page, tap the three-dot menu icon (...) in the top-right corner and select "Share." You can then choose to "Copy link" from your phone's sharing options.

LinkedIn App

Open the LinkedIn app and tap your profile picture in the top-left corner, then tap "View Profile." On your profile page, tap the three-dot menu icon (...) to the right of your name. Select "Share via..." from the list that appears. This will open your phone's share menu, where you can find a "Copy" or "Copy Link" option.

TikTok App

Open the TikTok app and tap the "Profile" icon in the bottom-right. On your profile page, tap the "Share profile" button that appears directly under your follower count. In the menu that pops up, one of the first options will be "Copy link."

YouTube App

Open the YouTube app and tap your profile icon ("You") in the bottom-right corner. Then, tap "View channel" right under your name. On your channel page, tap the three-dot menu icon (...) in the top-right corner and select "Share." In the share menu, tap "Copy link."

Pinterest App

In the Pinterest app, tap your profile picture in the bottom-right corner to go to your saved pins. From there, tap the three-dot menu icon (...) in the top-right corner. This will bring up a menu, select "Copy profile link" to add it to your clipboard.

Final Thoughts

Knowing exactly where to grab your profile link streamlines everything from printing business cards to updating your Linktree or email signature. For most platforms, visiting your profile on a desktop and copying the URL from the top of your browser is the most foolproof method, while in-app "Share Profile" features get the job done on mobile.
