Connecting your Instagram account to your Influenster profile is one of the most effective ways to boost your Impact Score and start landing high-value VoxBoxes. This guide walks you through every step of the process, from prepping your account to troubleshooting common issues, so you can start qualifying for better campaigns right away.
Before jumping into the steps, it helps to understand why this connection carries so much weight. Influenster is all about social influence, and Instagram is a primary indicator of your reach, engagement, and content quality. Linking your account does much more than just add a number to your follower count, it elevates your entire profile in the eyes of brands.
Your Influenster Impact Score is a metric that estimates your social reach. It's calculated by combining the follower counts from all your connected social accounts. Since Instagram is where many creators have their largest and most engaged audience, connecting it can cause a significant jump in your score. A higher Impact Score directly translates to eligibility for more premium campaigns featuring well-known brands and full-sized products. A score of a few hundred might get you a sample-sized product, while a score in the thousands opens the door to high-end skincare, electronics, and more.
Many brand campaigns on Influenster have specific requirements, and a connected Instagram with a certain follower count or engagement rate is often at the top of the list. Some campaigns, particularly those focused on user-generated content (UGC), will only be available to users who have a verified social media presence. By linking your Instagram, you’re not just showing a number, you’re proving you have an active, authentic audience that brands want to reach.
Once you’re accepted into a campaign, you’ll be asked to complete certain tasks, like posting a photo, Reel, or Story on Instagram with a specific hashtag. When your account is connected, Influenster can more easily track your submissions. This makes the review process smoother and ensures you get proper credit for completing your campaign requirements on time, which helps build your reputation as a reliable creator on the platform.
Taking a few moments to prepare your accounts can save you from a lot of frustration. Most connection issues stem from a few simple setup problems. Here’s a quick checklist to run through before you start.
This is the most important step. To connect to a third-party application like Influenster, Instagram requires your account to be a professional profile. If your account is still set to "Personal," the connection will fail. A Creator account is perfect for most influencers and content creators, while a Business account is great for brands or service providers.
How to switch:
Because Meta owns Instagram, all business connections are managed through Facebook. You must have your Instagram Creator or Business account linked to a Facebook Page to authorize the connection with Influenster. It doesn’t have to be a page you post on regularly, you just need one linked for authentication purposes.
How to check or link:
You’ll need your Facebook password to complete the authentication step, so make sure you have it handy. The process will redirect you to Facebook to grant permission, and having the wrong password is a common roadblock.
Once you’ve completed the prep checklist, the actual connection process is straightforward. You can do this on either the Influenster mobile app or their website.
Open the Influenster app and tap on your profile icon in the bottom right corner to go to your dashboard.
From your profile dashboard, tap the gear icon in the top right corner to open your settings. In the settings menu, look for an option called Connected Accounts or Social Accounts.
You'll see a list of social platforms you can connect. Find Instagram and tap the "Connect" button next to it. This will initiate the authorization process.
Here's the part that catches some people off guard. Influenster will redirect you to a Facebook login screen. This is normal and secure. Because it's a "professional" connection, Meta uses the Facebook Business integration API to handle it. Enter your Facebook login credentials - the ones associated with the Facebook Page linked to your Instagram account.
Facebook will ask you to confirm which Instagram account you want to connect and which Facebook Page it’s linked to. Review the permissions that Influenster is requesting. Typically, it asks to view your profile information and content analytics. This is so Influenster can analyze your engagement and follower demographic data to match you with the right campaigns. It does not give them permission to post on your behalf without your direct action within a campaign. Approve the permissions to proceed.
After granting permissions, you'll be redirected back to the Influenster app. Your Instagram account should now appear as connected in your Social Accounts list, displaying your username and follower count. The process is complete!
Sometimes things don't go as smoothly as planned. If you run into an error, don't worry - it's usually one of a few common issues with a simple fix.
If you get to the Facebook authentication step and your Instagram account isn't listed, it almost always means one of two things:
Generic error messages can sometimes be caused by a permissions issue that needs to be reset. Try this solution:
This is often a caching issue within the app or a temporary problem. Close the Influenster app completely and restart it. If that doesn’t work, try completing the connection process on a desktop web browser instead of the mobile app. Browsers often handle redirects for authentication more smoothly.
No problem. Just go back to your Connected Accounts settings in Influenster, tap "Disconnect" next to the incorrect Instagram account, and then start the process over to connect the right one.
Connecting your Instagram to Influenster is a simple, five-minute task that significantly increases your chances of getting picked for amazing campaigns. By showcasing your authentic reach and engagement, you make your profile far more attractive to the brands looking for influential voices just like yours.
