Enhance your email signature by adding social media icons. Discover step-by-step instructions to turn every email into a powerful marketing tool.

Adding your Facebook reviews to your Shopify store is one of the quickest ways to build visitor trust and turn undecided shoppers into happy customers. This guide breaks down exactly how to display that valuable social proof on your website. We’ll cover everything from simple, one-click app installations to a more hands-on manual method, so you can pick the path that works best for you and your store.
Think about the last time you bought something online from a brand you’d never heard of. You probably hesitated and looked for a sign that the business was legitimate - a review, a testimonial, something to build confidence. That’s social proof, and your Facebook recommendations are a powerful form of it.
When potential customers land on your Shopify site, they're looking for reasons to trust you. If they see that dozens of real people on Facebook - a platform they know and use every day - have left positive feedback for your business, it instantly lowers their guard. It’s like getting a direct recommendation from a friend. This isn't just theory, showing authentic reviews at key points in the shopping journey can directly impact your conversion rates.
Here’s why it works so well:
There are two main paths you can take to get your Facebook reviews onto your Shopify site, each with its own pros and cons.
We’ll walk through both methods step-by-step so you can make an informed decision.
For 99% of store owners, an app is the fastest, cleanest, and most reliable way to integrate Facebook reviews. The beauty of using an app is that it's built to handle all the technical heavy lifting for you.
While the exact steps might vary slightly between apps, the general process is almost always the same.
Head over to your Shopify Admin and click on "Apps” in the left-hand navigation. From there, click the “Shop for apps” button to go to the Shopify App Store. In the search bar, type in phrases like “Facebook reviews,” “social proof,” or “product reviews.”
You’ll see several options, such as Opinew, Rivyo, or Loox. Take a moment to read the descriptions and, most importantly, the customer reviews for each app to find one that fits your needs and budget. Look for features like direct Facebook integration and customizable display widgets.
Once you’ve chosen an app, click "Add app" and approve the installation in your Shopify store. This will redirect you to the app’s setup dashboard. Most apps have a very user-friendly setup wizard that will guide you through the next steps.
This is the most important step. The app will prompt you to connect your Facebook account. You’ll be asked to log into Facebook and grant the app permission to access your Business Page’s recommendations. Make sure you select the correct page if you manage more than one.
Once connected, the app will start importing your existing reviews. This can take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes, depending on how many reviews you have.
Now for the fun part. The app will give you options to control how your reviews look on your site. You can typically change:
A good app will let you place your reviews right where they’ll have the most impact. You can usually choose to add a review widget to your homepage, create a dedicated testimonials page, or even display product-specific reviews on your product pages. Most modern apps integrate directly with Shopify's Theme Editor, allowing you to simply add a "Facebook Reviews" block to any page you like without touching a line of code.
Follow the app's instructions - it's often as simple as dragging and dropping a new section in your theme customizer and selecting the review widget you just designed. Save your changes, and you're done! Your Shopify store is now supercharged with authentic social proof.
If you're on a tight budget or just enjoy getting your hands dirty with a bit of code, you can embed reviews manually. However, it's important to understand the trade-offs: this method is not dynamic. It won't automatically update with new reviews, and what you embed is static content.
Years ago, Facebook offered a dedicated "Reviews Plugin," but that has since been retired. The modern manual approach is to embed either a single, specific review or the page timeline itself.
This is a great option if you have a few standout reviews you want to feature as testimonials on a specific page.
Navigate to your Facebook Business Page and find the exact recommendation you want to display on your Shopify store. Click on the timestamp of the post to open it in its own unique URL.
In the top-right corner of the recommendation post, click on the three dots (...) icon. From the dropdown menu, select the "Embed" option. A pop-up window will appear with a code snippet. Click the "Copy Code" button.
This part is easier than it sounds, thanks to Shopify's Theme Editor.
That’s it! Your embedded review should now appear on your site. You can repeat this process for multiple reviews to create a small testimonials section. Remember, though, that if you want to swap one out for a newer review, you'll have to repeat this entire process manually.
Getting the reviews onto your site is only half the battle. How and where you display them matters.
Whatever method you choose, pulling your hard-earned Facebook reviews onto your Shopify store is a smart move. It transforms passive praise into an active asset that builds credibility, eases shopper concerns, and guides customers toward a confident purchase.
